We use evidence-based practices to help clients reach their goals. "Evidence-based" means significant research has proven the approach or model is effective. Examples of this include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Relational Therapy. In every instance, we approach therapy in a highly individualized way that works best for each client.

We specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults who want to learn how to regulate their emotions, create and maintain healthy relationships, and strengthen their relationships with their bodies. Check out our providers' page to learn more about our specific specialties!

A two-day, in-person social skills intensive for teens who could use support with connection, confidence, conversation skills, self-expression, and real-life social situations before the school year begins. Led by Taylor Alley, A-LPC/MHSP, Social Reset is offered in two grade-based sessions: rising 6th–8th graders meet July 27 + 29, and rising 9th–12th graders meet August 3 + 5.

Each intensive meets from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM at Tulip Tree Counseling and is $395 per teen. Teens should bring a water bottle. All group materials are included, and each teen will receive a take-home packet with skills, prompts, and tools to keep using after the intensive ends.

An in-person, DBT-informed skills group for teens, paired with a separate parent skills group to help caregivers support emotional regulation, coping, and communication at home. Our team has adapted this group to be practical, neurodivergent-affirming, and developmentally appropriate for teens and their caregivers.

Taylor Alley, A-LPC/MHSP, will lead the teen group, and Laura Hamilton, LPC/MHSP, will lead the parent component.

The fee is $150 per weekly session per family, with a discount available for families who pay in full. Each teen and caregiver will receive a binder with the curriculum to keep, along with a laminated skills reference sheet to use after completing the group.

The group launches Monday, September 14, has limited spots, and will meet weekly from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

Brainspotting is a focused, body-based trauma treatment that helps clients process experiences that may feel stuck in the nervous system. Sometimes people understand what happened logically, and their body is still carrying the weight of it. Brainspotting can help access and process those deeper layers in a safe, attuned therapeutic relationship. At Tulip Tree Counseling, Brainspotting is currently offered by Taylor Alley, A-LPC/MHSP, and may be incorporated into therapy when it is a good fit for a client’s goals and readiness.

Laura Hamilton, LPC-MHSP (she/her/hers), is passionate about guiding therapists through the process of becoming licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee. The path to licensure can feel daunting with its numerous requirements and regulations, but having a supportive, organized supervisor can make all the difference in creating a positive and smooth journey.

Supervision with Laura provides a space to navigate clinical challenges, celebrate wins, expand your skillset, and work toward professional goals with confidence. Laura’s approach follows a developmental supervision model, where she combines case conceptualization, clinical skills building, and self-reflection as a therapist. This holistic approach helps supervisees feel grounded and empowered as they prepare for licensure.

Laura is a Tennessee State Approved Clinical Supervisor and brings her years of experience and passion for therapist development into every supervision session.

Supervision fees:

• Individual supervision: $130/hour

• Group supervision: $45/hour (inquire for current group offerings)
